Personal Prospect Pick
Ian Lewis (age 19, 2B/SS, Signed July 2019, Bahamas) , the speedster with a plus run tool and tremendous athleticism is a prospect I’m looking to watch more in 2023. The frame (5ft10, 175lbs listed) has been getting stronger over the past couple seasons. Enough so that evaluators have put a 50 on the power tool. Ian makes decent contact, takes walks (10.3 BB%) and doesn’t strike out too much (21.1 K%). He’ll need to continue this especially as pitching advances through the levels. There are a lot of other MIF in the system (Salas, Cappe, Khalil Watson) that are at similar stages so I’m curious how this plays out for Ian. Pipeline Scouting Grades: Hit 50, Power 50, Run 65, Arm 55, Field 50, Overall 45.

Personal Prospect Pick
This may be the easiest selection for me to date. They were drafted out of Wright State in 2021 as the 33rd overall selection. Originally out of the Greater Toronto Area, #CanadianDirtbag 🍁⚾Tyler Black is my personal pick. Tyler was an organization all-star at 2B for the Brewers even though he fractured his scapula in July. Black slashed .281/.404/.424 with 21 XBH. Throw in 13 stolen bases while having a BB% higher than his K% (15.9%-15.5%) and you get an idea of the type of player Tyler is at the plate. The plus hit tool is the carrying tool for Black while being solid defensively as well. I can’t wait to watch Tyler in 2023, hopefully injury free. Pipeline Scouting Grades: Hit 60, Power 45, Run 50, Arm 45, Field 50, Overall 50.
