Personal Prospect Pick
Starting his college career as a South Dakota State Jackrabbit for 2 seasons, Adam Mazur went to the Cape Cod League in 2022 where he had a coming out party of sorts. He absolutely shoved (1.55 ERA, 34 K, 29 IP) putting him on the map. To follow up, with the University of Iowa Hawkeyes, he won 2022 Big Ten Pitcher of the year. Mazur has a four seam FB that sits 94-95 (T99) and a two seamer that sits in the low 90s. The gem of the arsenal is the 60 grade slider. Throw in an above average CU and you understand why the Padres selected Adam 53rd overall in the 2022 MLB Draft. Definitely an arm to watch coming up in 2023.

Personal Prospect Pick
This pick feels like a name that has been around forever for me. A 2nd round selection in the shortened 2020 MLB Draft, this former Texas A&M Aggie is a prospect that I am looking to view in 2023. Zach DeLoach has the tool set that can lead to an everyday OF role with a 4th OF floor. Evaluators have grades of either 50 or 55 across the board. A line drive hitter with a patient approach, DeLoach makes consistent, good contact and gets on base at a good rate. I am interested to see if there’s another step forward Zach takes in his development in 2023.
